FAQ

Getting help

My air conditioner is running but not cooling, and the house keeps getting warmer. Can someone come look at it?

Yes. Call us with your address and a good phone number. We send it to the technician on call, and he calls you when he's on the way. If it's still running, tell us what the thermostat is set to and what the house is reading. That helps the technician.

Can the technician call me before he heads over?

Yes. The technician calls when he's on the way. If you need more notice, like time to drive home from work, tell us and we'll pass it along.

When will the technician get here?

After hours, the on-call technician may have a call or two ahead of you. We give you a rough window when we can, and he calls when he's on the way. For next-day visits, the office calls you that morning with a better time frame.

My thermostat is flashing a message I've never seen. Is something wrong?

Tell us exactly what it says, and text a photo to 361-446-6925 if you can. We'll try to help over the phone. If it's still not right, we can send a technician that evening or the next day, whichever you prefer.

FAQ

Hours and scheduling

When is your office open? Does anyone answer the phone after hours?

The office is open Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM. Nights, weekends, and holidays, the phone rolls to our on-call manager. Someone answers 24/7.

Can you get someone out today or tonight, or do I have to wait until Monday?

We have technicians on call evenings, weekends, and holidays. If it can wait, you can pick a regular weekday visit instead.

Will your call show up as spam? What number will call me?

Our office and our technicians call from 361-446-6925. Save it in your phone so you don't miss us.

FAQ

Repairs

Water is leaking from my air conditioner, through the ceiling or under the unit. Can you come today?

Yes. We'll send the technician on call, tonight if you'd like or the next day if you'd rather wait. If you've had this leak before, tell us, so the technician knows to check the drain pan and drain line.

My drain line is clogged and the pan is full of water. Can you clear it?

Yes. Clogged drain lines are one of the most common calls we get, and the technician can clear it the same day. On some newer systems, a full pan shuts the system off, so it can look like the whole air conditioner quit.

The outdoor unit won't come on, or a small light on the system is blinking. What does that mean?

Newer systems have safety devices that shut the outdoor unit off when they detect a problem, like a full drain pan. A technician should check it. We can send someone tonight or first thing in the morning.

My thermostat is blank, even after I changed the batteries.

A blank thermostat usually means the system isn't sending power to it, so it's more than a battery problem. We'll send a technician to find out why.

My unit is making a loud noise and shaking. Should I turn it off?

Yes. Turn it off if it's shaking or getting louder. That often points to the indoor blower. Call us and we'll get a technician scheduled.

If it needs a part, will the technician have it after hours?

Usually. Our technicians carry common parts like capacitors, contactors, motors, and refrigerant. Specialty parts or duct materials may have to be ordered or handled on a weekday visit.

You were just out here and it's doing the same thing again. Will you come back?

Yes, we'll send someone back. If it's related to work we did, the return visit isn't charged. If it's a different problem, or a repair we recommended last time hasn't been done yet, it's billed as a regular service call.

I think I have a refrigerant leak. Can you just add more to get me through?

We can add refrigerant to get you cooling again, but that's a short-term fix. The real repair is finding and fixing the leak. That's best scheduled during regular hours, so the technician has the time and materials to track it down.

FAQ

Check-ups and Comfort Club

What is Comfort Club?

Comfort Club is our check-up plan. Members get two check-ups a year, 15% off parts, 5% off a new system, the $95 diagnostic waived, priority scheduling, and 24/7 emergency service with no overtime charges. It keeps your system running its best, and it starts at $169.99 per system.

I'm a Comfort Club member. When is my next visit?

The office reaches out ahead of each season to schedule your next check-up. If you need us between visits, call the same number. We take weekend calls, members included.

Do you sell air filters?

We keep regular air filters on hand and can order others, like high-efficiency filters. We don't generally sell parts over the counter. Call during office hours to check what's in stock.

FAQ

New American Standard systems

What brands do you sell?

Our main equipment brand is American Standard. Our technicians also service other brands, and the office can go over options with you during office hours.

Do I have to replace the whole system?

Not always. Our technician will tell you whether a repair will keep it running or whether replacing it makes more sense.

What's included in a replacement quote?

Each quote lists what's included. If something isn't clear, like whether new refrigerant lines are part of it, the office will confirm before you decide.

Is the estimate on a new system free?

Yes. Estimates on a new American Standard system are free. We look at your home, then go over the options. Repair visits are different: those carry a service fee (see Cost and payment).

I approved the estimate. Did you get it?

The easiest way to approve is the approve-and-sign button in the estimate email. It comes straight back to us. Replying to that email won't reach the office, so if the button doesn't work, text your approval to 361-446-6925 or email [email protected]. Once it's approved, we'll set the day and let you or your tenant know.

FAQ

Cost and payment

How much is it to come out and diagnose it? Does that fee go toward the repair?

The service fee covers the work done in the first hour, not just the trip. After the first hour, time is billed in quarter-hour steps, plus any parts. Weekday visits cost less than evenings and weekends. We'll tell you the current rate when you call.

Is it more if you come out after hours or on the weekend?

Yes. Evenings, weekends, and holidays have an after-hours rate that's higher than our weekday rate. If the problem can wait, you can choose a weekday visit. We'll give you both options so you can decide.

Can you give me a ballpark price over the phone?

We can give a rough idea, but an exact price needs a technician to see the system first. If we've already been out, we can go over the estimate on your account.

How do I pay?

You can pay the technician on site by card, check, or cash. After hours the office is closed and there's no drop box, so call during office hours to arrange anything else.

Do you offer financing on new systems?

Yes. Approved buyers may qualify for financing on a new system. Terms vary. Call and we'll walk you through what's available.

FAQ

Rentals and property managers

It's a rental and I'm not there. Can you work with my tenant, or use a door code?

Yes. Give us your tenant's or guest's name and number, or any door, lock box, or gate access, and we'll put it on the work order. The technician calls ahead, and we can call you to approve the work.

I'm waiting to hear back about unfinished work or a quote. Where do things stand?

We'll check the notes on your account, mark it for follow-up, and the office will reach out. Tell us how you'd like to hear back: call, text, or email.

Can I just text you the address and details?

Yes. Text the address, your name, and your email to 361-446-6925, and we'll add it to your account. If the air is out or water is leaking, call instead so we can get a technician moving.

FAQ

Businesses

Can you help with the air conditioning at our office or business?

Yes. We work on air conditioning for businesses as well as homes, and we can send the on-call technician for an emergency. For specialty work we don't do, like certified air balancing reports for the city, we'll point you to someone who does.

FAQ

Corpus Christi and nearby communities, including Portland, Robstown, Calallen, Flour Bluff, and Port Aransas. Not sure if you're in our area? Call and ask.

Do you clean ducts?
